What guides you
guides our work.
Life is a journey, and having something to guide you can make a big difference. Understanding what drives your choices is the first step toward meaningful change.
With anxiety or OCD, fear often motivates one's actions — leading to choices you might not otherwise make, such as avoiding social gatherings, repeating certain actions until it feels "just right," or staying away from places you enjoy.
While fear can offer some wisdom, it often limits our lives. Values, on the other hand, tend to expand our lives — moving us toward what is important and meaningful to us.
Making the mindful, values-based choice — rather than acting from fear — often leads to what feels like a fuller, richer life. That's at the heart of everything we do at PeaceView.
"If you can be with the pleasant without chasing after it, with the unpleasant without resisting it, and with the neutral without ignoring it — that is an incredible freedom."— Rick Hanson
Our Shared Approach
Different therapists, different specialties — united by the same commitment to evidence-based, values-centred care.
Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP)
The most well-researched approach for OCD. Involves gradually and safely confronting feared situations, breaking the cycle of obsessions and compulsions at a pace that feels manageable.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Rather than fighting difficult thoughts, ACT helps you accept them, defuse from their power, and move toward a life aligned with your deepest values — even when anxiety is still present.
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
Many people with OCD and anxiety struggle with intense self-criticism. CFT helps you develop a kinder relationship with yourself — a foundation that makes all other therapeutic work more effective.
DBT & Somatic Approaches
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and somatic experiencing help build emotional regulation skills and bring awareness to how the body holds and processes difficult experiences.
Trauma-Informed Care
Every therapist at PeaceView practices through a trauma-informed lens — prioritizing safety, choice, and empowerment so you can heal at your own pace, in your own way.
Mindfulness-Based Practice
Mindfulness skills are woven throughout our work — helping you develop a non-judgmental awareness of your thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations that extends well beyond the therapy room.
