IFHP Coverage — Updated May 1, 2026
If you are a refugee claimant, mental health services are covered through the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP). As of May 1, 2026, due to Canadian government policy changes, IFHP covers 70% of service costs. The remaining 30% is the client's responsibility as a copayment. Interpretation services, if required, may carry an additional fee. Please speak with us if you have concerns about affordability.

Mental Health Assessment
Obtain a Medical Referral
You will need a referral from a medical doctor for a mental health assessment. If you don't have a family doctor, a walk-in clinic or community health centre can provide this.
Contact Us

Two Assessment Meetings
We schedule two comprehensive meetings to discuss your background, mental health history, current concerns, and any fears about returning to your country of origin.
